Would be to lock up now. . . if I had a lock

Two major milestones this past week, our own power and the windows and doors went in. Having power inside the house is such a luxury but my little brain can’t quite come to terms with the fact that our meter started at 844. I mean can’t they just reset it or something?  I know, I’m a little bit crazy. There’s probably a pill for that.

The windows and doors finally got installed on Friday. It feels really good to know they aren’t just leaning against the walls anymore. I have yet to get a lock for the main door but it will need one soon. Can’t risk the wind slamming that door around.

The site supervisor came by to see if it met with his standards. I think it passed although he would prefer it if his feet didn’t get so dirty.

The shower base finally showed up two months after ordering it and after a few tense moments, some cursing and holding of breath, it fits perfectly.

I have been working out the electrical plan and since I am an obsessive and crazy visual person I thought it best to actually place things where I think they should go. Now if only the actual wiring were that simple.

And the non-house milestone this past week was WD’s 13th birthday.  Here he is ending his bush walk in the mud, his beach walk in the sunset and ending his new toy’s life in less than 5 minutes (graphic photo of disembowelment withheld – you’re welcome).

  1. Happy 13th Birthday WD – house looks great, looking forward to seeing it in August. I can paint if you need some help at that time! Love AT
