West coast of the west coast

Everywhere around here is called the west coast but we technically went over to the west coast of Vancouver Island when we hit the road to visit the booming (not so much) town of Port Alice locate on the Neroutsos Inlet.

With a population of around 800 this little town is a popular jumping off point for marine adventures since they are the “Gateway to the Wild West Coast”. A twisty, turny road in and some pretty scenery made for a decent half day tour.

  1. Boy those foxgloves sure get around, scenery as always is spectacular….belated thanks so much for such great hosting on our trip out in June, hard to believe it is August already, still enjoying the memories. Darren, that Sointula novel was great. Especially so since the places were familiar but he is a great storyteller too. My sister Launa is seriously considering a move out to live in Victoria so yet another reason to come and visit the West Coast (Vancouver Island). A busy summer farming here, Stay well. Love AT
