Welcome to the wet coast! That is what someone said to me the other day and I have always maintained that I would prefer rain any day over the snow and cold of the places we have lived. However, a little sun would be nice every now and then. We managed to get out exploring some more on our little island while we had a couple of hours reprieve. The north shore is mostly uninhabited and with the wild winds coming from the south east this week, a welcome bit of shelter. The trails are quite wet but I guess that makes for good mushroom growing – or so it appears with all the different varieties that were popping up.

Slugs love mushrooms.

Seas were a little too rough to spot any creatures out there but we did see what looked like a cruise ship going through. I later learned that this is one of the Alaska-Washington ferries.

WD thoroughly enjoyed his off leash walk but went a little beach crazy chasing seagulls and small seabirds. He was eyeing up the heron when s/he decided it was best to leave the scene.

Have you found any “magic” shrooms? Lol! That pretty bright coloured one looks like it might be dangerous…
