New Zealand is awe-inspiring. There is so much diversity packed into a small area and the scenery leaves you breathless.

Getting to/from

We arrived in New Zealand after visiting Tahiti and Moorea. We flew from Vancouver, Canada to Los Angeles, United States (2h 57m) to Papeete, French Polynesia (8h 25m), stayed there for 4 nights before flying to Auckland (5h 40m).

It is possible to fly direct from Vancouver to Auckland. I would totally attempt this 14h 10m flight if someone else paid for me to have a lie down seat. Otherwise I look for ways to break up the distance and add in a stopover destination.

Entry Requirements

Citizens from Canada and the USA do not need a visa and can stay up to three months.
UK citizens can stay for up to six months.

Proof of onward travel is required before entering New Zealand. They may also ask you to provide proof that you can financially support yourself during your visit there.
