It is just a little cooler here than I would like so we headed south to the mid area of Vancouver Island for a couple of nights to camp and feel the warmth of summer. I almost melted. It wasn’t too bad near the coast.
We started at Miracle Beach Provincial Park and it was quite nice. WD decided to have a dust bath which is obviously good for his complexion.
The following night we went inland to Strathcona Provincial Park and ended up at the Ralph River campground at the north end of this very large park. It was HOT and DRY. They have not seen rain for the past 3 months in that area. There were some beautiful tall trees in this largely intact forest.
That little bit of snow in the distance did nothing to offset the 38 degree thermometer reading.
Crazy black boy baking in the sun.
We will definitely have to explore this area more.
Gorgeous – you definitely found summer!
