After spending a very wet night in Campbell River we packed up the tent, stocked up on some supplies and headed north the final 2.5 hrs to catch the ferry at Port McNeill.

There was nothing much to see along the way except clear cut logging areas, lots of trees and hills. We explored the town for a little while we waited for the ferry, got our first glimpse of Malcolm Island and met a nice couple from Nanaimo touring around in their Westfalia van.

The ferry ride was 25 minutes and pulled right in beside the inn we were going to stay at. We have arrived. It feels good to be off the road. Now to explore.
Great, happy landings! The last one is your reward for such a long trek! Love AT
