Got down to the nitty gritty today. The numbers are as follows:
4,964 – number of kilometers driven to get to Malcolm Island
- 975 – dollars spent on gas
237 – dollars spent on accommodation getting out here (quickly blew past that number for three nights in a hotel once getting here)
306 – dollars spent on ferries. Towing the boat had advantages and disadvantages. Oversized loads on ferries are a killer.
All in all it cost a lot less than some of the quotes I got for sending our stuff out with someone else.
And here we are settling into our new apartment watching the setting sun. It has been a while since we could see the sunset from anywhere we’ve lived.

Went down with my real camera to get some better shots so hopefully when my internet is figured out I will be able to post some good pictures of our new surroundings. For anyone who is thinking of visiting – we have more options for housing you here than we did at our old house. So come on out!
