It seems like not much happens for a few days and then all of a sudden, poof, you have the makings of a wall and parts of a roof (or a dance floor as everyone else is calling it).
Earlier in the week we had the hydro pole put in. He even managed to save the only daffodil the goats didn’t eat.
The wood order arrived on Wednesday and the weather cooperated. By lunch time on Thursday we already had the makings of a wall.
By 5pm Thursday we had a dance floor and Wandering Dog was checking out the view from the front window. He was a little concerned about the large step to get in and out of the house but we assured him that we will not be living with a dirt floor forever and it will be filled in. This is a very good thing because for some reason he has decided the dirt at this house is the bestest tasting dirt ever!
A section of the ceiling was left open to be able to get the concrete down to pour the slab. This scary dude warns people it is not safe to walk there.
Not quite ready to move in but it sure is moving quickly now!
Wow, quick indeed…..looks a bit like a container in the narrowness and length but I am sure it will be lovely when finished, the view is spectacular. Hope Brodie doesn’t eat much of that dirt….could have used him as an excavator if you had known his taste ran to dirt eh? Great to see it progressing so well. Love AT
OMG D&J! That is amazing progress in just a few days – is it going to be similar to your home in Bancroft? Besides the 3 sides being in the ground, which is genius! Looking forward to seeing more. Bear says he misses Dar very much at the office. “He was such a good man, now I have to put up with…” well, I’ll leave the rest blank.
